Alice Gräfin Grote

 

Alice Gräfin Grote is a freelance cellist based in Hamburg who performs at weddings and other functions, gives private cello lessons and teaches at different music schools in Hamburg.

Alice Gräfin Grote studied in Aberdeen and London. She successfully completed her bachelor's degree in Scotland in 2014 under the guidance of her teacher James Halsey and took part in numerous orchestral and operatic projects during her studies, such as in the Edinburgh Youth Orchestra and in several projects organised by the University of Aberdeen.

In London, she completed two master’s degrees at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance under the guidance of Professor Richard Markson and received a generous scholarship from the Leverhulme Arts Trust. During her studies, she took part in many orchestral projects and performed in renowned concert halls such as the Royal Albert Hall and the Cadogan Hall. In 2016 she performed with the metal band Bring Me The Horizon in the Royal Albert Hall.

In addition to her playing, Alice has also taught many students. She was employed by the Redbridge Music Service in London and prepared her students for examinations by the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, a system that assesses the abilities of students in grades.

In December 2019, Alice toured China with the Berlin Metropolitan Orchestra and conductor George Hlawiczka.
